BIOGRAPHY

Growing up on the Isle of Man, Emily trained in all aspects of the performing arts, including piano, violin, singing, ballet, modern dance, drama and musical theatre. Emily went on to gain a BA(hons) degree in Music and Drama at the University of Manchester. During this time she had experience in various forms of theatre and performance including opera, full orchestral and choral works, scripted theatre, musical theatre and devised theatre. Whilst completing her degree, Emily began to teach singing and drama privately, and had success with students auditioning for and being accepted to prestigious stage schools.

Emily gained Qualified Teacher Status though the University of Cumbria, an experience which she loved and has led her to the joy of teaching!

Now Emily is back on the Island she is teaching Music and Drama at Ballakermeen High School which keeps her very busy. She still takes part in as much performing as she can fit in and personal highlights include playing Betty Schaefer in ‘Sunset Boulevard’ and Christine Daae in ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. She regularly sings at concerts and events around the island and is still constantly learning as a performer and practitioner.
